New feature: blip "updates." I'm not sure that term actually, accurately describes the feature. You might also call it a "live" thread. I dunno ... I don't have a good, clear name for what to call it.

Basically, I can post a blip here, and then, nested as "children" under that one main blip, I can post "updates" to it. It's basically a way to allow me to post a collection of blips all centered around one main topic, as defined in the main blip that the updates are associated with.

When I came up with the idea for this feature, the idea was that it seemed to me to make sense to be able to post updates around one central blip, rather than have a bunch of updates that were all related to one central topic, or event (that's really where I think this will shine) and have them all get dropped in the main feed, I can instead post updates "under" (related to, as children of, whatever) that one main blip.

Anyway, I feel like I'm spending too much time trying to explain it here. It might make more sense if I just, well, demonstrate it, by posting a couple of "updates" to the post.

So that's it. Hopefully that clears up what blip "updates" are. I'm excited to have this new feature, and am excited for the kinds of things it will enable in the future in terms of how I and others can use my web site.

I feel like where this will make the most sense is for things like, when I'm at one of the kid's sporting events, and maybe family and friends can't come themselves, but would like updates on how it's going. I can post one main blip for the event overall, but then as the event goes along, I can post updates like score updates and highlights, things like that, as updates to the main post.

You'll notice that while the main blip stays at the top of the page, updates will always show below it, with the most recent update at the top, which should hopefully make them easy to follow along with.

This is an "update" to the blip above. The primary thing you will (should) notice, is that while this is just another blip like any other, it won't show up in the main feed. That's the idea, is that "updates" are intended to only be visible/displayed when viewing the main blip they're associated with.

When a blip has updates, on the main feed, you'll see an icon on the blip card that indicates that it has updates, along with a count of the number of updates it has.
