Softball on the schedule for this beautifully sunny March Saturday afternoon. The wind off the lake just across the road from the ball fields is chilly, but otherwise it’s a beautiful sunny day today. Excited to watch Charis play again today!
Popup for the third out. Game over. Rangers lose 2-8, but …
Charis got her first hit!! I’m so excited for her!!
Runners at first and third, 2-8, two outs. Let’s keep it rollin’ girls!!
Aannnd she scores on an RBI!
Aaawwwww MAN! She got the credit for the score, but the batter was out at first base because of coach pitcher interference on the field. That stinks.
2-8 now with two outs.
Charis just got her first base hit!! And she ran all the way to third on a passed ball at first base. WWWOOOOOHHOOOOO!!! 😍😍
Charis is up to bat next … c’mon girl!
Mercifully, out number three. Deep hole to dig out of in this our last at bat (I think), down 1-8.
This team just hits every time up. Every batter seems to get a hit. We, on the other hand, can’t seem to buy a hit outside one of our batters.
And another … gracious. 1-8 now.
Hit to the outfield scores two more with two outs, ugh. 1-6, and now a hit to the fence brings in yet another. All with two outs. 1-7. Ouch.
Charis back out to left-center field again.
Coming back out for the top of the fourth inning, down 1-4 still.
Dang. Runner on first followed by two quick outs … aaannnddd there’s the third. Dang.
Finally got that third out, got some work to do now though. 1-4. C’mon girls.
Another RBI, ugh. 1-4 now, still two outs.
Another passed ball on the throw to first, another run scores. 1-3 now, two outs.
Passed ball, bad throw back to the pitcher results in another run, 1-2 now. Second out right after that. Let’s go girls, get outta this inning.
Deep hit to the outfield for the other team, RBI. 1-1 now with 1 out.
Almost forgot, third inning, all coach pitch.
Charis in the outfield, playing left-center field this inning.
Three strikeouts after that, no score. Going to the third inning, up 1-0.
Second batter on, two nice hits in a row. Runners at first and second, no outs.
First batter on base. Ground ball took a nasty hop at the pitchers mound that helped. Runner on first, no outs.
Pitcher struck her out, inning over. We’re still up 1-0.
Other team has a runner on third with two outs. C’mon girls, shut ‘em down.
That was weird. She struck out. Looked like they called her out because she swung, but I’d swear she got hit by the pitch. I thought she should’ve been able to take her base on that. I dunno. Either way she struck out. Inning over. We’re up 1-0.
Strike out. Charis is up to bat. 2 on with 2 outs.
RBI single. 1-0. Runners at first and second with one out still.
Hit batter. Runners at first and third with one out.
Second batter struck out.
Triple to the fence on the first at bat.
The other team threatened, loading the bases, but the pitcher got a couple of strikeouts and induced an infield popup for the third out. No score after the top of the first inning. Rangers up the bat now.
Charis is playing at second base to start the game today.
Game is getting ready to get started. Charis’s team, the Rangers, is the home team so they’re in the field first. Let’s go Rangers!
