Another busy week for us this week. Hunter had a track meet last evening. Little weird, they changed things up pretty significantly with that last night. He didn't run either the 100m or 200m like he normally does. Instead, they scratched those and had him run the individual 400m. He did great, and was only edged out by his Concord teammate by the narrowest of margins, .33s. They were almost dead even at the finish line. They later joined forces and won the 4x400m relay by almost a half a track. They really killed it there last night, though against lesser competition than last week. Last week they finished second at the meet, but last night they finished first, despite having a few seconds slower time. Faster competition drives you to be faster. There's a lesson in there kids.

Charis's team won their softball game last night too. I was so proud of her. She got not only one but TWO base hits! She also made a great play from the outfield when a player on the other team made a great hit, sending the ball all the way out into right field where Charis was playing. She made a great play on the ball, and a great throw to first, turning what could have been a much bigger play into just a single, and the runner never scored. She ended up getting the game ball for the game for the first time this season. She was so excited. And I was SO proud of her! I was just sad that I couldn't be there to see it for myself, as I was at Hunter's track meet instead. We can't be in multiple places at the same time, but I got videos from Crys. That kinda stuff helps a lot too.

Phoenix leaves after school this afternoon for his senior beach trip. Hope he has a fantastic time with friends and makes some great memories.
