Luke 12
Worry is like a dashboard indicator light in a car …
It tells us that our trust and hope has shifted from our Lord to something else.
Luke 12:13-34 - I actually really need to read and meditate on this passage. Like, really let it sink in.
“Life is in the kingdom of heaven”
Life is not in all of the things that we let cause us stress and anxiety in life. The things that we don’t let the kingdom of heaven into.
vs 29-31 - “these things” - the two references here don’t refer to the same things. Look closer. let the reader understand
vs 35-40 - Jesus tells us to be ready
We’ve been asking the right query, but in the wrong order.
The first question we need to be asking is ”God, what are you doing?”
What ”these things” does God want me to have?
When my child is losing their mind and I pause and say ”God, what are you doing?” and his answer is ”I want you to teach them self control.”
When I’m feeling stressed or anxious about something, I need to pause, take a deep breath, close my eyes and ask, ”God, what are you doing, and what do you have for me or need from me in this?”
