Mother’s Day at Faith Promise

Rachel Stevens

  • Luke 12

  • Worry is like a dashboard indicator light in a car …

  • It tells us that our trust and hope has shifted from our Lord to something else.

  • Luke 12:13-34 - I actually really need to read and meditate on this passage. Like, really let it sink in.

  • “Life is in the kingdom of heaven”

  • Life is not in all of the things that we let cause us stress and anxiety in life. The things that we don’t let the kingdom of heaven into.

  • vs 29-31 - “these things” - the two references here don’t refer to the same things. Look closer. let the reader understand

  • vs 35-40 - Jesus tells us to be ready

  • We’ve been asking the right query, but in the wrong order.

  • The first question we need to be asking is ”God, what are you doing?”

  • What ”these things” does God want me to have?

  • When my child is losing their mind and I pause and say ”God, what are you doing?” and his answer is ”I want you to teach them self control.”

  • When I’m feeling stressed or anxious about something, I need to pause, take a deep breath, close my eyes and ask, ”God, what are you doing, and what do you have for me or need from me in this?”
