Faith Promise - 5/17

• Screwtape Letters is coming. Excited for that.

• “The Big Ten” - seems like we’re starting a new series centered around the ten commandments today.

• The first five are about God, and the last five are about us and others.

• Exodus 20:2 - “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.”

• Genesis 1:27 - “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” - identity, gender confusion, the Bible is our standard for the truth about this too, just like everything else.

• “Image bearer” - I love this term. I’ve always loved this so very descriptive term. We bear the image of God at the very core of who we are.

• Exodus 20:13 - ”You shall not murder.”

• Anger -> contempt -> the way that we see people … murder?? Do we murder people with our thoughts? 😬

• Social media algorithms amplify anger and contempt because those feelings drive engagement. 😡😡

• Stay. Off. Of. The. Curated. Feed. Or maybe better yet, just … get off of it altogether. The addiction is real.

• We should bring LIFE (NOT death) to others in the way that we live. Others = Image Bearers.
