College Football Gameday
Just like last week, this is my soapbox thread for this week’s games.
Just like last week, this is my soapbox thread for this week’s games.
Oh, and Texas beat the Buckeyes?!! From down 23-3 to winning??! Ouch … that’s gotta hurt Bucks. Two weeks from now in Neyland could be fun. 😅
Good win for the Vols. Feel like this could be a fun team to watch this year. Good challenges, but Faizon Brandon could legitimately be a tremendous quarterback long term. I mean, he’s only two games in to this whole thing and he looks the part unquestionably, he doesn’t look at all like he doesn’t belong. Today was a real test on the road and I thought he looked great. Exciting times ahead I think.
The Ducks on the other hand … just feels like a sad situation as a fan. This was supposed to be the year. They’re absolutely loaded with talent and a deep, mature roster, and yet, the whole team looks lost right now. I personally feel like Lanning’s decision to promote the two coordinators from within was a poor decision, and I feel like we’re seeing the results of that now, and it’s too late now to undo that decision, at least for this season. So it feels like it could be a sad waste of a huge opportunity for this season. But who knows … that’s just how it feels right now at least. We’ll see.
Well, now I’m really glad we got that touchdown to start the second half, because we’ve played like crap ever since then, and GT about to make this a lot more uncomfortable. Come on guys, get off the dang field.
Oh man … that sucks so bad. I hope both of these GT players end up OK. Gosh I hate seeing that.
I’d feel pretty good if the Vols could put 7 on the board on this drive to open the second half. Sco boys.
The offensive line looks like it needs to get a bit more of Coach Owings’ time. They’re getting pushed around too much.
Wow … that pick six felt like it was ALL the result of watching film on this team. That kid looked like he knew exactly what was coming out of that formation and he was ALL over it. That was awesome.
Been a bit of a mixed bag of a first quarter for the Vols. Few glimpses of brilliance on both sides of the ball. Special teams don’t look great at all. Defense needs to get off the dang field on third down.
Welp, two very opposite drive exchanges there. Aannndddd then a disastrous punt. That was ridiculous how long he took to get it off.
Well, holding them to a field goal, I’ll take that.
Defense not looking as good on this drive. Come on boys … shut ‘em down!
I mean, you can’t ask for a much better start than that. Made that look easy.
Great start for the defense, that looked great.
Well, I hope the Vols can redeem my college football day for me, haha.
That feels like a fitting way to end a game that’s been ugly at best all around. Gross.
Welp, we got the stop we needed. Now can the offense do anything with it? Come on boys, le’scoooo!!!
I’m sincerely concerned at this point. How many punts have we forced today? One? We’re screwed if we can’t get a stop here.
ESPN’s coverage of this game today is miserable. I mean, I realize they can’t control a weather delay, but can we at least get legitimate coverage on an alternate channel? Deserved or not this is still the #6 team in the country.
And our first forced three-and-out of the game. Hoping this is trending upward.
And now there’s finally a Brandon Finney mention. Are we finally waking up? Lawd I hope so.
This feels notable.
Oh nice. We ARE capable of throwing and catching the ball.
I would sincerely like to know what happened to Brandon Finney Jr. He was legitimately one of the best cornerbacks in the country last year, as a true freshman. Through the first two games so far I’ve not even heard his name called, and he is consistently leaving receivers open. If possible, he appears worse so far than he was last year, not better. Did someone screw him up somehow? Change his technique or something?
Doesn’t feel like a great time to be a Ducks fan. Lot of excitement going into this season with all the playmakers coming back on both sides of the ball, but so far, the season is … concerning at best.
Holy CRAP! We’re getting out-played by 262yds to our 35?!! With 10 minutes left in the first half?!! OK now it’s getting embarrassing, fast. We’re getting owned on both sides of the football by an 0-1 Oklahoma State team. Wake UP Oregon!!
My confidence in this Ducks team is extremely wobbly right now now.
I’m not gonna lie man … I know it’s still early, but man … I have real concerns about Oregon’s offense man. Given all of the players that returned on that side of the ball, the biggest factor ya have to point to is a new OC. The OL does NOT look great. Receivers aren’t getting separation. Dante Moore looks … off. This is legit concerning man.
Devon Jackson putting this team on his back right now, gonna do it all himself?? He needs some help boys!
Wooowwwww … that was amazing. Holy crap the Ducks needed that in a huge way. 97yd pick six. I can’t believe he took it all the way. That was awesome.
So, at what point is it safe to be legitimately concerned about Oregon’s offense? 😕
ESPN crumbling. So annoying. They don’t seem to have any issues feeding us ads.
The first play sucked, but the defense forcing a field goal there was huge. Now … offense, c’mon bro.
Well that was a disappointing opening drive. 😕
Oh MAN!! Jamari Johnson is out?! Uugghhh
OK boys le’sco Ducks!! Choke the pokes!!
Nnnnoooo … not a weather delay! Ugh … now I gotta wait another hour-and-a-half to watch the Ducks!? Ugh … that stinks.
