College Gameday - week 7
Third Saturday in October means only one thing for Tennessee fans: it’s Alabama week. I’d be lying if I said I felt confident in the Vols chances in this game. I feel pretty clearly, personally, that Alabama has shown me more to be confident in this season than the Vols have, despite their record. I think the way the Vols defense has played so far this year they will have a chance in every game they play, absolutely. But my confidence in their offense is below average. They’ve shown me very little. The run game is strong, but as strong as it is. The passing game is equally weak. I can’t recall seeing the Vols play a balanced game offensively yet this year. Despite any of that, Go Big Orange!!
The Ducks are a mess this year, sadly. That’s likely at least partially why they’ve been relegated to an old school “PAC 12 after dark” schedule for this week, not kicking off til 11pm EST against a pretty decent Nebraska team. If they haven’t figured some things out and made some legit changes this week, we may all be glad that most of the country won’t see this game. But again, Go Ducks!!
