T-Mobile has passed AT&T

Until this past Saturday, my family had been long time, loyal AT&T customers. For over a decade we had been with them and had enjoyed their reliable service. But over the past couple of years, I feel like things with them have gradually declined, slowly, over a long period of time.

We've never had a great signal at our house. Not terrible, it worked well enough, but it was never strong. I just figured we were in a weak spot, just, bad luck. But we've started to notice over the past few years, and especially recently as we've spent more and more time in the Farragut area, that the signal is just bad most everywhere, and in many spots in one of the largest suburban areas in East Tennessee, the signal is just flat out horrible. Just, didn't make any sense.

We've long had their fiber internet service at our house, and largely it's been pretty solid and reliable. But recently we had an outage that lasted for over 14 hours. Our internet was out all day that day. They got it fixed, but honestly, the signal has been degraded and glitchy ever since.

Anyway ... I talked to several different providers, and honestly the one I felt best about overall was T-Mobile. We had friends that had been on it for a few years now, and their experience with them has been nearly the opposite from ours with AT&T. When they first switched it was kinda rough. Their signal was real spotty, lots of dropped calls, etc. But over the last few years its gradually gotten better and better. Most recently they've been very happy with it overall.

So we went ahead and made the switch. It's still early, but so far it's been pretty nice. The signal strength and reliability, especially in areas that we frequent, has been noticeably better. We saved a bit of money on our bill, and honestly, I think we can do even better with some tweaks to our plan.

Sorry 'bout your luck AT&T, others are better. You need to do better, or you're gonna get left behind.
